Test Session: Registration Deadline is Sept. 30

The GGBFSC is offering an in-person test session on Friday, Sept. 30 from 8 am – 7 pm at Cornerstone Community Center.

This test session has a GOLD/Senior/International Dance judge panel for Moves, Free Skate, Solo Pattern Dance, Partnered Pattern Dance (partner Alex Gamelin) and Solo Free Dance.

Deadline for registration is Monday, Sept. 19 at 11:59 pm. This test session registration may close early if session fills.

Club Ice will be at Cornerstone Community Center until Oct. 1.

All ice must be contracted by 11:59 pm the day before the session. If you miss that deadline and want to skate, you can use a coach’s reserve to still skate.

Reminder that a skater can skate on club ice without a coach. This is a great opportunity for practice time.

Graduating Seniors Award Application

U.S. Figure Skating Graduating Seniors Program was developed to recognize the achievements of those individuals graduating from high school who have made the commitment to continue their training in figure skating while pursuing their academic studies.

Applications for the Graduating Seniors Award are due by March 15, 2023, with an early application deadline of Oct. 3, 2022.

ATTENTION ALL CLUB MEMBERS! 

We will be hosting an Exhibition on Wednesday, August 24. This is a wonderful opportunity for skaters to have the ice to themselves, and practice their programs or dances to prepare for future competitions and test sessions. This is a first come, first serve event. Please sign up ASAP if you would like to participate!

Summer Ice Speciality Classes

On Tuesday evenings you will see a specialty class. This class is taught by 1 or 2 of our coaches & is a group class. The coach & class plans are attached for you. 

Wednesday mornings will feature a patch/spins class that is taught by your own individual coach. This class is specifically to work on your spins and edge skills.  Patch, also known as figures, was used in figure skating for the first 50 years of the sport.  It teaches edge quality, control, and body alignment.  A coach is NOT provided unlike other specialties.

“I find myself wanting to share my passion with others so that they too can experience the joys figure skating has to offer.”

A bit about Alaina:

14+ of figure skating. Double Gold Medalist. 7+ years of competitive figure skating (freestyle, light entertainment & dramatic artistics). 3rd place in Artistic Recall at Skate Green Bay and 2-time artistic recall finalist at Fox Cities Invitational competitions. 3+ years of choreography experience. Currently pursuing a career as a professional show skater.

This Sunday, we’ll celebrate the 2021-2022 Skating Season at our Spring Banquet.

We look forward to seeing you at the Ravine from 5pm – 9pm.

NOW AVAILABLE: Summer Ice Schedule

All ice must be contracted by 11:59 pm the day before the session. If you miss that deadline and want to skate, you can use a coach’s reserve to still skate.

Reminder that a skater can skate on club ice without a coach. This is a great opportunity for practice time.

The GGFSC is offering another Aspire Camp this summer! Mark your calendar for Tuesday, Aug 16 from 8:30-4:30.
