Coaches’ Reserve

It is our pleasure to introduce our members to an option called the “Coaches’ Reserve.” In the past, we have allowed “walk on” skaters to show up and skate when they had not previously used a punch and scheduled themselves on a particular club ice session.  Due to Covid 19 and the difficulty and inconsistency in the process, the GGBFSC board voted to discontinue allowing skaters to use the walk on option.
We have had requests from both skaters and coaches alike to reinstate some form of an option that would allow a skater to utilize a club ice session when he or she had not scheduled that ice session in the allotted time frame prior to the session.
In response to this, we are now offering a “Coaches’ Reserve” punch.
This option allows coaches to purchase as many reserve punches as they would like at rate of $16 per punch.  When the coach purchases the punches, they will be issued reserve tickets that they may use when necessary.  In this process, the coach is responsible for the skaters access to the ice.
For example, if a skater thought they had scheduled ice but realized they had not when they got to the rink, or if a skater and coach want to get an additional session in before a competition or because they have some extra time on a particular day, the coach can offer the skater a Coaches’ Reserve ticket to do so.
The coach would need to:- Ensure that the session is not at capacity and can allow an additional skater- Give the reserve ticket to the skater to fill out with their name, date and session skated (the ticket then gets dropped in the GGBFSC club box in the lobby at DePere or near the coaches’ locker room at Cornerstone)- Bill the skater for the $16 charge with their regular coaching bill
We hope that coaches will take advantage of this option as they see necessary.  Please ask your skaters coach if he or she is participating and feel free to send any questions to Carl Black at cblack0744@sbcglobal.net.
