Calling all high schoolers and students transferring to UW-Madison! We are hosting a Prospective Skaters Day on April 2, 2023! Here, students can learn more about our club and collegiate skating – there will be an information session followed by an on-ice practice session (so bring your skates)!

For skaters & parents: If you are using a Coach Reserve, please make sure the skater is providing the Ice Monitor their name and the name of the coach who is for the skate session they are in.

Ice Monitors: Please document and submit both the skater and coach names for Coach Reserve situations.

Interested in Synchronized Skating?

Join KICKS Synchronized Skating for a Spring Workshop & Placement Day! During these workshops, we will practice synchronized skating skills: lines, wheels, blocks, circles and more! This is a great opportunity for your skater to continue developing their skating skills while also allowing your skater to receive an offer for Team Placement for the 2023- 2024 KICKS Season, giving your skater the option to join the team!

Workshops will be held on March 26 and April 2 (2:25 – 3:15pm) with Placement Day on April 16 (3:00-4:20pm), all at De Pere Ice Arena. All club skaters are invited to join.

Test Session: Registration Deadline is Sept. 30

The GGBFSC is offering an in-person test session on Friday, Sept. 30 from 8 am – 7 pm at Cornerstone Community Center.

This test session has a GOLD/Senior/International Dance judge panel for Moves, Free Skate, Solo Pattern Dance, Partnered Pattern Dance (partner Alex Gamelin) and Solo Free Dance.

Deadline for registration is Monday, Sept. 19 at 11:59 pm. This test session registration may close early if session fills.

Graduating Seniors Award Application

U.S. Figure Skating Graduating Seniors Program was developed to recognize the achievements of those individuals graduating from high school who have made the commitment to continue their training in figure skating while pursuing their academic studies.

Applications for the Graduating Seniors Award are due by March 15, 2023, with an early application deadline of Oct. 3, 2022.

Congratulations to Mikayla and Lydia for passing their Gold Medal Tests.

NEW: Test Session on Sept. 30

The GGBFSC is offering an in-person test session on Friday, Sept. 30 from 8 am – 7 pm at Cornerstone Community Center.

Summer Ice Speciality Classes

On Tuesday evenings you will see a specialty class. This class is taught by 1 or 2 of our coaches & is a group class. The coach & class plans are attached for you. 

Wednesday mornings will feature a patch/spins class that is taught by your own individual coach. This class is specifically to work on your spins and edge skills.  Patch, also known as figures, was used in figure skating for the first 50 years of the sport.  It teaches edge quality, control, and body alignment.  A coach is NOT provided unlike other specialties. 

Congrats to those that passed tests!!

Summer Ice Schedule

All ice must be contracted by 11:59 pm the day before the session. If you miss that deadline and want to skate, you can use a coach’s reserve to still skate.

Reminder that a skater can skate on club ice without a coach. This is a great opportunity for practice time.

Registration opens September 1 for our Fall Learn to Skate sessions.

  • Thursday – September 15, 22, 29 October 6, 13, 20 (6 week session); 6:25-7:25pm
  • Saturday – September 17, 24 October 1, 8, 15, 22 (6 week session); 9:20-10:20am

Aspire Camp 2022

Please note the new date – August 23, 2022. Registration is OPEN! This is perfect for beginner skaters that have passed basic level 4.

Club Exhibition

ATTENTION ALL CLUB MEMBERS! 

We will be hosting an Exhibition on Wednesday, August 24. This is a wonderful opportunity for skaters to have the ice to themselves, and practice their programs or dances to prepare for future competitions and test sessions. This is a first come, first serve event. Please sign up ASAP if you would like to participate!
