Test session updates

Virtual testing is approved as a permanent option for US Figure Skating clubs and members.  The permanent requirements will closely follow the pilot program that has been in place since Jan. 1.

There have been changes made to the waiting period for tests marked “Retry.”  Moves in the field, pre-juvenile and below free skate tests, and for pattern dance tests, the waiting period is reduced to 14 days, beginning with the 2021-22 season.  For standard free skate tests Juvenile and above, the waiting period is reduced to one day, beginning with the 2021-22 season.

There are other changes but they apply to the adult levels, etc.

For a full review of all changes, see the US Figure Skating Rule Book.

Changes to the Covid-19 Policies

Happy Summer, and we hope everyone is enjoying being back at Cornerstone!

After reviewing our current mask policy and operations at Cornerstone, the Board Of Directors have decided to modify that policy.

With many skaters having received a Covid vaccine, the abundance of space to keep safe distance if desired, and the current policy the rink management has, we have decided to change our masks policy to:

Skaters may choose whether to wear a mask in Cornerstone arena or not, whether on the ice or off the ice. So, no mask requirement for skaters.

Parents may also choose whether to wear a mask or not in Cornerstone arena.  So, no mask requirement for parents either.

Coaches should continue to match the skater’s choice in mask wearing. If the skater is wearing one, the coach should wear one as well. This will help to maintain all skaters’ comfort level and we are so grateful for the help and accommodations our coaches have made.

This change will take effect June 13th, 2021.

We are so grateful for our GGBFSC family!
