Spectators are allowed at De Pere Ice Arena

The city is allowing a total of 50 people inside the arena.  For example, if we have a total of 25 skaters/coaches on the ice, we would be allowed to have 25 spectators in the stands.  We ask that you please be mindful of the number of people in the rink if you choose to spectate from the stands.

While we are excited to allow spectators back in the stands, we still need to follow the current rules:

  • Masks are required to be worn by everyone in the De Pere Ice Arena    at all times
  • Spectators in the stands must social distance
  • Spectators are asked not to congregate in the lobby areas.
  • If spectators are not able to follow the city’s rules, they will be asked      to leave the rink

With the dynamic nature of public health and pandemics, please watch for changes to reflect local conditions.  If you have any questions, please email ggbfscdirectors@gmail.com or use the form at the bottom of the newsletter.

Happy February Birthday!

Cancelation of Skate GB and Change in Volunteer Hour Requirements

Your Board of Directors met Tuesday evening & had to make an additional difficult decision during these unstable times. Due to the ongoing pandemic & the guidelines set forth by U.S. Figure Skating  for running competitions, we have decided we cannot safely run Skate Green Bay in March 2021. We will set our sights on running the competition in March 2022. We know this has been some tough times for everyone & please know we are just as disappointed by this decision as you are. Stay tuned for further information regarding the planned test session scheduled for March 12, 2021.

As a result of all of the events that we have had to cancel these past several months, the Board has decided to reduce the required 12 volunteer hours &/or committee requirement to 6 hours. In addition, these 6 hours can be met by ice monitoring. To clarify, the required 4 ice monitoring hours are still required. If your committee is not meeting this year, you might want to consider fulfilling that requirement by completing 6 additional ice monitoring hours by June 30, 2021. Please note: This change is only effective for this 2020-2021 season ONLY!

Congratulations, Skaters!

Test Session Registration Now Open on Entryeeze

We are excited to share that we have scheduled a test session for skaters whose tests only require one Judge.   The test session will be Saturday, January 23rd and will be held on the 8:30 and 9:25am Club Ice sessions.

Roger Glenn will serve as our Judge for this test session. If your skater has worked with his sister Leslie within the previous 12 months, Roger is not able to judge any of their tests at this time.  We are not bringing in a dance partner for this session so skaters who plan to test a partnered pattern dance will need to supply their own partner or take advantage of the “‘Pandemic Partner” ruling.    With Roger’s credentials we are able to offer the following tests.

Thank you, Volunteers!

Thank you, Club Members, for volunteering as Ice Monitor for the GGBFSC (Greater Green Bay Figure Skating Club). We rely on volunteers to keep the ice open and safe for our skaters. Thank you for helping us.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable time for all, and that your volunteer time is counted, please do the following as noted with the roster sheets email, you only need to reply with one email at the end of your session to note which skaters were present/absent for your session. Since we no longer have the paper for you to sign this reply is how your volunteer hour is documented.

Your reply should read:
